Please help construct Wickenburg's first animal shelter

 We are in the process of planning the building and construction of an animal shelter to house and care for our homeless companions.  The Town of Wickenburg is working on finding a suitable parcel of land that the HSOW can lease on along term basis for the new shelter. Our plan is for a steel structure with dog runs, catteries, dog park and more... Donations are greatly needed to start the shelter construction as soon as possible.  . 

The Wellik Foundation awarded the Humane Society of Wickenburg a grant in the amount of $25,000 for pre-adoption spay/neuter costs, veterinary exams and spay/neuter clinics.  Thanks to the foundation 2006 will be the first year for free public spay/neuter clinics for the Wickenburg Residents.  Thank you Wellik Foundation! 

WICKENBURG RESIDENTS FREE SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC was a howling success! The spay/neuter clinics for 2006 have been filled to capacity.  We hope to continue our efforts next year and will keep you informed on the issue.

The Humane Society of Wickenburg (HSOW) was formed September 7, 2004.  We are a non-sheltered rescue that relies solely on Foster Homes to house the homeless animals. We are a 501 (c) Tax Exempt organization as recognized by the IRS.  Several Fundraising events are in the works for this year to raise funds for the construction of the shelter.  There are many items needed for the care and housing of the homeless animals. Our Mission

Provide the Wickenburg community & it's animals with services & resources that will:

• Enhance pet-owner/animal-human relationships
• Prevent abuse, neglect, mistreatment & cruelty toward animals
• Inform the community on responsible pet ownership practices & issues affecting animals
• Provide temporary shelter or foster care for lost, homeless, unwanted and abused animals until appropriate, permanent loving homes are secured
• Compliment the goals & activities of municipal, county & state animal control agencies
• Promote pet sterilization & other population control measures
• Instill humane values in youth through education, literature & programs
• Advocate the general welfare of animals & the community with the ultimate goal being; To create the ideal humane community setting for both animals & humans.
